Nordic Health Group was founded in 2016 with a clear conviction: that specialised healthcare, built on structure and discipline, can deliver measurable improvements in quality of life.

That conviction has a personal origin. Our founder, Thomas Lawaetz, grew up in a family of doctors, surgeons, and nurses. His father, a vascular surgeon, played a central role in introducing minimally invasive treatment methods for varicose veins in Northern Europe. Thomas witnessed firsthand how patients with a common, treatable condition were underserved — not for lack of good medicine, but for lack of focus, structure, and access. Around one third of the adult population is affected by varicose veins. The gap between need and care was clear. So was the opportunity to close it.

The first clinic opened in Copenhagen in 2016 under the name Dansk Venecenter. Today, Nordic Health Group operates 60+ clinics across Denmark, Sweden, Norway, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom — making us the largest specialised provider of varicose vein treatment in Northern Europe. Across more than 55,000 treatments performed, patient satisfaction stands at 97.4%.

Specialisation Creates Quality

We focus exclusively on minimally invasive treatment of varicose veins. This focus is not a limitation — it is the source of our quality. By concentrating entirely on one medical field, we have built standardised clinical protocols, dedicated specialist surgeons, structured training, and clearly defined patient pathways that are consistent across every clinic we operate.

Quality, for us, is an engineering challenge. Excellence must be built into the operating model and delivered reliably — regardless of market, funding structure, or geography.

From our first clinic in Copenhagen to 60+ clinics across five countries, growth has always followed structure — never preceded it. Our platform combines clinical standardisation, operational discipline, data-driven oversight, and local execution within a shared framework.

Each is locally rooted. All operate within the same clinical and operational framework.
